The Micro Galaxy

The War of the Micros

In THE MICRO GALAXY, every civilization flies the hardware it built. Wedge keyboard computers serve as fighters; the big boxes are the motherships that carry them between the stars, and fighters dock through their disk and tape drives. A ship is exactly as fast as its clock, turns as well as its chips could scroll, and carries one missile per hardware sprite.

The saga opens in the late seventies with EPISODE 1: THE MICRO MENACE — and the war it begins will run the whole length of the micro age, era by era, machine by machine, to the present day and a little beyond.

Sector Intelligence

The galaxy map charts hundreds of sectors named for the software houses of the era — each with its own systems, suns and allegiances. Some fly your colours. Most do not.

The Civilizations

THE COMMODORE
Breadbin fighters off PET carriers — numbers, nerve, and a price the others can't match.
THE ATARI
Arcade cabinet motherships with coin-slot hangars; their wings fly hot and their cabinets fight to the last quarter.
THE APPLE
Elegant hulls, deep pockets, and a fondness for closed formations.
THE TANDY & THE TI
Store-bought steel and calculator discipline — never underestimate a machine with a warranty.
THE SINCLAIR
Tiny, cheap, everywhere. Their fighters weigh nothing and arrive in clouds.
THE PIRATES
No shipyards of their own — everything they fly, they took from somebody else.
