MICROWARS

WORK IN PROGRESS. FLYING NOW

EPISODE 1: THE MICRO MENACE

The Game

A space combat saga and a sci-fi satire: the machines of the micro era fly as warships, and the great space operas get an affectionate send-up. Wedge keyboards are fighters, big-box computers are motherships, and every ship's speed, guns and missiles come from its real hardware: clock speed is top speed, hardware sprites are guided missiles, RAM is the fuel tank.

Fly with a wingman squadron, order the fleet, land in your carrier's hangar, and take the fight INSIDE enemy motherships, in through whatever aperture the hull really has: an arcade cabinet's coin slot, a disk drive, a tape deck, down the service corridors, past the gun turrets, to the shielded reactor at the core.

No installer, no launcher, no download manager. A browser is the system requirement. MicroWars is a work in progress, flying in public while it is built, so expect new builds often and rough edges sometimes.

One Galaxy, Every Pilot

MicroWars pilots all fly THE MICRO GALAXY together: captains cross paths sector to sector, and when a pilot ejects, adrift in a cartridge escape pod, it may be another player's ship that flies the rescue. Open the star charts »

Next Transmissions

Further episodes of the saga are in the shipyards, and new titles for various retro platforms are on the drawing board. They will take their places on this flight line as they launch. Watch the dev log for launch signals.
